I can only echo JC's words regards the ' Raise The Roof ' initiative...It's not about UB40, it's not just about The Rainbow..its about everything Birmingham has to offer the world. Our world beating musical, our wonderful people and the all the artistic expression that has yet to see the light of day, the music that has yet to be composed and performed, the photographs that have yet to be taken, the paintings on the walls of the Rainbow that will inspire someone else to paint, the conversation at the bar that will inspire the next great Birmingham novel...Its been an honor for UB40 to be involved with such a serious gang of artists, and to have worked alongside Jez Collins, Andrew Dubber, Ben Ellis, Brian Condon, Kent Davies and of course the incredible Jam Jah DJ's (Thanks guys) Massive respect and gigantic BIG UPS to everyone involved in the Nov 3rd 2009 fight for music.

PS..few spelling, grammatical errors on the above comment, should have read 'World beating musical culture' Anyway...still excited about whats next..whats to come...one final observation..

Years ago talking with Islands Chris Blackwell about music, the business etc..he related a story about the Bob Marley & The Wailers...they were complaining about doing promotional interviews...(don't we all )
So..he said ..
" I'll just leave it with you guys BUT y'know what happens when you don't promote dont you ?

NOTHING !

Its down to us that reside here in Birmingham to tell the world about ourselves and our culture..no one else will do it for us.
