In 'preparation' for the gig at the Rainbow on Tuesday 3rd November, UB40 are playing two big festivals this weekend... one in Switzerland, and one in Bratislava. Here's Robin at Heathrow, just before they board the plane.

A vibrant and active musical environment is part of what makes life rich, exciting, interesting and meaningful.
Music As Culture exists to celebrate those parts of contemporary popular music that are not simply about returning a profit, but are about our cities, our heritage, our shared experience and ourselves as people.
The UB40 project examines the role of live music in the cultural life of a city, the relationship between music heritage and citizens, the role a major international band can play in local civic pride and the tensions that can sometimes occur between city regeneration projects and established music venues.
Music As Culture is curated by the Interactive Cultures Research Unit at Birmingham School of Media.
